This week’s bull spotlight is on Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s (RMEF) Gunpowder & Lead.
This bull is owned by Jeff Robinson Bucking Bulls.
He’s been ridden 16/33 outs with a buck off percent of 51.52%.
This doesn’t seem impressive at all. In fact, looking strictly at these stats, this bull is mediocre at best.
But what makes him truly special is his ability to be really rank, yet still be rideable.
Out of the 16 times he’s been ridden, 9 of those times have scored over 90 points.

90.25 – Austin Meier – Portland ’11 (Bull score 44.25)
90.50 – Valdiron de Oliveira – Arlington ’11 (Bull score 44.50)
91.00 – Robson Palermo – Tampa ’11 (44.50)
91.25 – Robson Palermo – World ’10 (45.00)
92.00 – Renato Nunes – Fresno ’11 (45.50)
92.25 – LJ Jenkins – Albuquerque ’11 (45.25)
92.50 – Robson Palermo – Saskatoon ’10 (45.50)
93.25 – Robson Palermo – Pueblo ’11 (45.25)
93.50 – Robson Palermo – Milwaukee ’11 (45.50)

What makes this bull rideable despite his fast spins, hard bucks, extreme head tosses and sharp turns is the fact that he has timing. Once a rider gets settled in and can follow Gunpowder & Lead’s rhythm, the scores speak for themselves.

Here’s some videos of him.
